The firm of Alun Thomas & John was founded by Alun Thomas and Richard John in 1991 and rapidly became one of the leading West Wales law firms, the first to hold a legal aid franchise in Aberystwyth and one of the first to be given the Conveyancing Quality Service accreditation.

Over the last 30 years, the firm has served clients and organisations in the West Wales area and further afield.  As well as acting for many individuals and families, the firm has been involved in many of the major developments in Aberystwyth including the development of the University student accommodation, the reclamation and redevelopment of the harbour at Aberystwyth and numerous new housing estates in the area. The firm is strongly committed to the community and provides legal advice in both English and Welsh.

In May 2024, after over 53 years’ legal practice, Alun Thomas became a consultant in the firm and Awel Jones became a partner, together with Richard John. Our team of lawyers continue to serve the community.
