Family Law
The breakdown of a relationship and ancillary issues involving children and finances are invariably distressing. Our aim, as family experts, is to seek to resolve these problems in a sympathetic and non-confrontational manner. We offer a sensitive and caring approach and give practical advice and guidance in all issues relating to family law including:
- divorce and separation
- private law children issues such as residence and contact disputes
- financial disputes arising from marriage or cohabitation
- domestic violence/injunctions
With family mediation becoming an increasingly popular alternative to court proceedings as a means of resolving family disputes, we can offer help and support throughout the mediation process.
Our family lawyer is a member of Resolution, a national organisation of family lawyers committed to non-confrontational divorce, separation and other family problems. As such, we follow the Resolution Code of Practice in dealing with family matters. A Resolution member believes that in resolving the problems arising at the end of family relationships it is preferable to adopt a non-aggressive approach and deal with matters in a sensitive, constructive and cost-effective way.
On 1st April 2013 all legal aid funding is being withdrawn for the majority of private family law cases. We can offer an initial fixed fee consultation and advice and are happy to discuss payment options to seek to provide support tailored to the individual’s needs.
